Dealing With Scum And Sludge Through The Septic Tank
There has been a noticeable concern growing among the residents of Marion County regarding septic tanks. The Chief Sanitarian of Marion County published an article on septic tanks so that the residents may develop insight on the subject area. This piece contains information on the basic facts about septic tanks. Underdeveloped regions will benefit greatly from septic tanks. The use of a septic tank involves a set up of a filter bed or a tile disposal field for the excretion of effluent. Further your knowledge on water tanks at rainwater tank.
A poisonous shade of grey soapy water is how fresh sewage can be described. An estimated one pound of solids is present in every 150 gallons of effluent. Vegetable and animal matter constitutes half of the solid part of the waste, and the other half is composed of minerals. A forty percent suspension, which settles over time, is produced alongside a sixty percent solution after the decomposition of vegetable and animal matter has taken place.
The disposal of waste matter is the primary concern in sewage treatment as waste matter is composed of both digestible and non digestible portions. Septic tanks function as retaining chambers that aid in the natural decomposition process of sewage. Putrefaction of solid matter transpires at the base of the tank while scum develops from the lighter portions of waste and grease at the surface of the tank.
The actions of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria make the decomposition of waste matter possible. The solids are diminished into liquids and gases after the bacteria have acted upon them. Sludge is what becomes of the waste matter that is not decomposed. The bacteria action is essential to the successful operation of the tank. Smothering of the actions of the bacteria will take place in the presence of chemicals in the septic tank. Chemical solutions and lye should never be used in the cleaning of drains. Obtain further advice on water tank prices and the subject of water tanks.
Sewage input is directly proportional to sewage output, thus the maintenance of stable liquid levels is easily achieved. Raw sewage is directed down into the base of the tank through the baffle that is installed at the inlet of the tank. The displacement of raw sewage is avoided through this process and scum is undisturbed. Installed in the outlet of the tank is another baffle which helps the inlet baffle achieve its goal.
The effluent that is discharged carries with it a fetid smell even if most of its components have decomposed. Rain pipes should never be connected to septic tanks. A 500 gallon septic tank would prove to be sufficient for the average two bedrooms home. One thousand gallon tanks are advised for homes which are bigger than the average home. A septic tank can perform at its best when it is in its best condition that is why it is recommended that a septic tank be cleaned at least once every three years.
How would a florida gar do in this situation?
I have a 150 gallon tank and i was looking to put a florida gar in there..i was wondering some other possible tankmates..and whether or not a freshwater stingray would be a good tankmate...i also have a 55gallon tank open to suggestions for cool freshwater fish..thanks
i live in south fl so i love the florida gar and to be honest they get big enough to where i don't think 150 is big enough it might be but i wouldn't put anything else in their that's big maybe a few oscars or a peacock bass but nothing big it sounds like a good setup but think about size of fish. good luck btw you should join monsterfishkeepers.com its better to ask questions like this on there. have fun with the tank, and for the 55 gallon a single peacock with a oscar or two is a great choice or other fish of that source i love that combination because they are fish to show off and make you the envy of everyone.
Toyota releases extra tough Land Cruiser GX for Australia (Autoblog)

> This Land Cruiser comes from the factory with not only the ability to ford
deep water, but the intent, as well.
There are many reasons to love Australia. Beautiful beaches, fantastic
surfing, miles of unspoiled countryside and balmy winters all do much to stoke
our appreciation of the country. We can now add the bare-bones Toyota Land
Cruiser GX to that list. Toyota says that it created this particular vehicle
for those customers who "tend to abuse, not just drive" their vehicles. That
certainly sounds like our kind of people.
The Land Cruiser GX features vinyl floor mats, vertically-hinged rear barn
doors, 17-inch steel wheels and, best of all, a snorkel. Yes, this Land
Cruiser comes from the factory with not only the ability to ford deep water,
but the intent, as well.
In addition to the aquatic equipment, the Land Cruiser GX is packed with an
auxiliary fuel tank for traversing the open wastes, plenty of under-body
protection and an honest-to-goodness metal key. A 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8
diesel engine sits at the heart of this beast of burden coupled to a six-speed
automatic transmission with full-time four-wheel drive ...
